Graphic Designer - Jobs Abroad Location: San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a Graphic Designer to join our San Francisco office. Candidates should have three to four years of experience, supported by strong graphic design, interaction design, and communication skills. The role requires working collaboratively, creatively and flexibly with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to work across a range of projects; from identity design and system application, product interaction to interface designs. Production skills are essential, as well as a passion for design and a point of view about your work. A Graphic Designer at Ammunition is able to translate user needs, client business requirements, and technical capabilities into designs that are visually interesting, easy to use, and emotionally engaging.

Client-facing skills Successful candidates must be comfortable with clients and be able to effectively share their point of view and expertise. They are interested in the business environment and what clients need to make something actionable and how to make clients feel comfortable throughout the innovation process. Candidates must be able to understand the scope and boundaries of projects. 02. Human-centered perspective Candidates must believe in a Human-centered approach to design and be comfortable going out into the world for inspiration. They must be able to participate on a team in the context of a Human Centered Design methods, be comfortable with ambiguity, and should understand and possess a strong grasp of design methods. 03. Communication skills Candidates must have strong presenting, verbal and written skills. Additionally, successful applicants understand the value of design and brand within a design and business context. 04. Team skills Successful applicants believe that better work is done through collaboration and have the ability to contribute to and inspire teams through collaboration as well as direction, vision and planning. The ability to relate to individuals and nurture colleagues is also a requirement. 05. Technical skills (craft and tool mastery) Successful candidates must know what excellence is. They not only identify and evangelize best practices, but also are able to push new boundaries and explore new territory in order to deliver great design. 06. Visual design skills Candidates should exhibit a curiosity about contemporary art and design culture, and maintain an active interest in ongoing dialogue within the creative community at large. They should demonstrate excellent typography skills, an ability to evaluate and edit photography, a keen understanding of visual systems, and an eye for detail.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • At least three to four years design experience
  • Strong skills in graphic design and interaction design.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design, interaction design, or a related design discipline.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to Web-based applications and consumer electronics.
  • Create visual designs that effectively communicate brand identity and product functionality, including the design and production of screen layouts, typography, color palettes, user interface elements, and icons.

Additional skills, a plus:

  • Experience designing motion graphics with tools such as Flash or Adobe After Effects.
  • Knowledge of capabilities of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, Flash, and CSS.
  • Ability to produce design specifications, storyboards, scenarios, and design prototypes.
