Midland Intl. is a fast-growing importer and distributor consumer and professional tools. We have launched several successful brands in major Canadian retail chains and are continuously expanding into new markets.
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic designer to join our in-house product marketing and development team.
Our graphic designer will be responsible for managing and coordinating various product development tasks. They will develop interesting concepts for packaging, advertising campaigns, and retail merchandising, with emphasis on improving user experience.
SKILLS
- Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in Graphic Design (agency or in-house is preferred).
- Formal education in Graphic Design and Marketing
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
- Experience designing consumer-ready packaging, user manuals, product warning elements and promotional materials
- Experience with product photography and photo editing
- Knowledge of 3D modeling programs (Cinema4D) is preferred
- Extensive experience designing for print, retail, physical UI and web
- Knowledge of printing standards and methods
- Knowledge of marketing and advertising concepts is preferred
- Minimum 4 years of graphic design experience (design for retail is preferred)
- Working to meet tight deadlines
- Create retail-ready packaging for a variety of home and professional consumer products
- Communicate specific brand values and maintain thematic consistency through packaging, user manuals and supporting print materials
- Coordinate artwork and product design with a number of factories, maintain communication with manufacturing facilities and design engineers
- Maintain several websites, troubleshoot issues and regularly update content
- Manage design tasks and coordinate schedules with freelance team, manufacturing team and logistics team.
